Sept. 15-Sept. 20, 2008

First Grade: This week will be continuing to study Emphasis, Color, Shapes, and oil pastels as we create our Wild Things!

Second Grade: We are busy finishing up 'The Dot' project and will soon be studying pointillism.

Third Grade: We're getting busy with colors and patterns! Students' Kaleidoscope projects are definitely brightening up!

Fourth Grade: We are still working hard on our Picasso Portraits. We have been studying lines and shapes (organic and geometric)while we're sketching our portraits.

Fifth Grade:

Dear Fifth Grade Parents,
Beginning the week of September 22nd, fifth grade Art students will be required to bring a folder to Art class. (Most students already have a folder put aside Art, but you might want to check with your child). Each week students will be given an Art Folder assignment to be completed by the next Art class.
Art folder assignments will consist of independent sketches or Art related questions to be completed by the students during Art class or for homework. Art folders will be checked weekly for progress. Each assignment will be worth 5 points toward your child’s Art grade for each trimester. Late slips will be issued for late assignments. Since students only have Art once a week, late work will not be accepted after the second late week.
The goal of these art folder assignments is to encourage higher level thinking skills; while creating a personal outlet for your child’s creative thoughts and ideas.

Thank you,
