1st Grade: Last Art Day :(
Students will be creating a one- day project of either Van Gogh trees or modeling clay fun!
2nd Grade: Faith Ringgold Story Quilts
We will finish drawing and add a little painted colors into our quilts based on the story of Tar Beach by Faith Ringgold.
3rd Grade: Egyptian Reliefs
Students will finish their clay relief by painting. The theme combines their classroom time of studying Chicago and Egypt...we are creating Egypt on Parade!!
4th Grade: Guatemalan Weaving
Time do cut our weavings off the loom!!!
5th Grade: Cultural Masks
We will begin learning about mask making and various cultures that use masks. Students will be working with plaster gauze to sculpt their mask form. Once plaster is dry, students will be able to paint and decorate their masks based on themselves---who they are, what is important to them, and their cultural background.
